This red oak log (one in front) is 31 feet, 25 inches on big end and 15 on small. Log calculator says 4100 pounds and .58 cords. I loaded it with a 160 jd track hoe and knew it was heavy.
Lol! Can confirm oak. Some was split from the fall and had lots of medullary rays. Some other guy took all the top stuff and made a few random cuts on the log. Land owner said his saw was too small for it.
Guess I didn't get enough of it today. Wife is not feeling well so I stacked some dry wood in the dark.
I got to cut some Doug fir with an old friend at his mother in laws place. We put almost 2 cord on his trailer for the 5 hour trip home and I snuck a load out for helping him. We could cut dead stuff for years off that 20 acres.
Half cord load i delivered today. 1/3 black walnut and the balance mostly chestnut oak. Oak was CSS Spring 2021.
