At the front of our hymnal is a section with hymns Praising the Lord. So many of the older hymns, late 1800 - early 1900, have mini sermons in the verses using bible verses. Inspired writers wrote from the heart and we are the benefactors of their results. Not that the newer hymns don't have their place but there is a beauty and uplifting of the spirit in a lot of the older hymns that I quite like. Hymns like these sung in the heart during times of trouble, sorrow and even joy connect us to our creator and source of strength.

Good Morning... :coldone: ... Just got home... 3 hour delay in the plane... a few minutes from the arrival of the plane, but mostly in the plane... we were boarded... but lighting in the area took the ground crew off so we couldn't get dispatched and then it waiting for the weather to clear... then the airplane back up... he said like 50 planes ahead of us... but the flight went smooth... Then came home to find two or three chickens got to be food for some predator.... Pretty sure a coon, since I found one at the perimeter of the fence... Time to unwind (which = Rum and a Cigar)... and get some rest before going to work...

Glad you're back home safe. Sorry to hear about the chickens. We lost some over the years to dogs and a bobcat.

Got my atv back yesterday. Good. I haven't rode it since plowing snow last winter. Now it is ready again but I won't put the snow blade on just yet. However, I may ask my son to put it on when he comes but if not, I'll rassle it. It did seem good to be on it again.

Morning all. It does seem weird at time when you all are posting what seems like the middle of night to me and then 3 to 4 hours later I get to read them. My posts must arrive in the middle of the day to you.
Day off today as it is a statutory holiday called Truth and Reconciliation Day. Canadians confronting and understanding their dark history with regards to treatment of the Indigenous Peoples. History is important as it shows us the mistakes we made and hopefully we learn from them.
Off to visit Mom today under rainy skies. I should have gone grocery shopping yesterday when it was drier but I got involved in projects. I actually spent time in the sewing room cleaning up and working on a couple of projects.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good afternoon! 84F and sunny, just a few more days of summer. Not much was accomplished over the weekend. Need to plant some mums, unload bales of straw from my truck and make a few bundles for the stand. Have a God day!

    Good morning y'all!

    65/85

Planning to finish up yesterday's job this morning, then possibly go clean up some oak just down the road from there.

We took down three pines that had tops blown out in the storms, as well as the two pines (two small firs) and a few cedars that were already horizontal, then he showed me a sycamore that lost it's top as well.
Got two loads hauled home yesterday, planning to go back for number three, and a couple more cedars & possibly a bit of cherry if we can access it behind the house.
