Dad handed this rifle down to me for my 50th birthday. Sentinel model bought new in 76 at Western Auto. He could have gave me 5000$ and this would still mean more. First gun I ever shot.
Nice, if I put a firearm on my tool box at work HR would have a heart attack. Best to keep it tucked in!
This little rifle will go to the deer stand with me along with my new 35 Whelen. I see lots of squirrels and dont mind bringing home a mess of them.
Well shot my new to me 35 Whelen today. It's A H&R single shot so not expensive (I've had good luck with them). It's apparent the previous owner never shot it. Still had cosmolean in the barrel and on the action. Loaded a round and it wouldn't lock up or let the hammer cock. Got to looking and the hammer was hitting the scope. Mounts are to low. Stopped and picked up some Leopold high mounts on the way home. Should fix it right up.
You can't put a price tag on firearms like these, especially with your own memories attached to it. I'd be really proud to own that one myself. Those old lever action 22's are a hoot.
Yes sir. Grew up with it and have no idea how many rounds I put through it. Dad said I shot it 100 times more than him.
