Or Backwoods Savage age or milk crate seat! Welcome to the forum. In all seriousness you will not find a greater crew on the net! Tell us about your firewood hoard.
Yes, we like pictures, and pets. I am an oddball as we have 4 cats that guard the wood need to find pictures. Edit to add that it looks like you are well stocked up on wood.
My hoard if I had to guess is somewhere around 12 to 15 cords in that pile in picture. That pile is roughly 2yr supply. I will be pulling wood from the back half of the pile this year as it is 2 years old. Probably got another 4 cords in driveway that I need to process still and got a few tree removal jobs lined up. I burn everything from willow to oak limbs and cordwood.i split it all by hand
A GTG is a gathering of like minded Hoarders and usually last 2 or 3 days but sometimes more. Many will bring their saws and various tools. Trees might be felled and bucked up. Some trees may be trimmed and we have some top notch arborists amoung us. One can try out a saw or a splitter or whatever. One big thing is the food and just meeting new and old friends. Sometimes we will cut wood for a neighbor or for some needy folks, such as like is done at Walt's in a couple of weeks. Also on tap is a lot of fun and a few beverages might also be found.
Welcome to the club. Lots of great members here sharing knowledge and humor. Yes, we like pictures of wood hoards, saws, splitters, pets, equipment... Pictures from the PA GTG in June we went to.
It sounds like you burn a goodly amount of wood. Stick around and you may hear a lot about the 3 year plan!
I'm trying to get to the 3 yr plan, I'm gonna be close if I split a lot this winter. We burn a decent amount. Only heat source in a drafty 1920 3ksqft house. We only have .5 acre and are intown. so at sonepoint having 25+ cord on site will be a problem.
Just the1 vogelzang 3200p. We're never warm in the coldest parts of winter but we don't freeze to death either. I prefer a small house but the wife fell in love with this house and it had been vacant for awhile so price was decnt
The children get space heaters in their rooms to supplement We don't have ac in the summer either,we live simple by choice. We can afford AC and central heater just choose not to live that way
Welcome aboard! That is quite the cascade of wood in your barn. Looks awesome! I too like to live simple. My wife tells me what to do, and I do it. Simple as that.
Welcome. I have told many of my friends and family that FHC is the friendliest corner of the internet that I've ever experienced.
