The going trend in many fields these past few years has been to shut down any debate and demonize/assign ulterior motives to any dissenters. That alone is reason to further question things. Science is not static and healthy democracy within a constitutional republic only thrives when all voices are heard. If any issue is watertight, the proponents of it should welcome debate as an opportunity to prove their arguments further.

You're welcome. The big take away is that we are being told CO2 is warming the planet, when in fact the best data we have shows that CO2 increases are rather a side effect of a warming planet and not the cause. The scare mongers have it backwards and they still try to promote their reasoning by obfuscating the science with modeling techniques that are not suitable for such a complex thing as climate.

You can drive yourself to the point of insanity thinking about this stuff. I can come up with the craziest equations you've ever seen in your life to arrive at 2+2=4. Or we can accept it's reasonable to simply say that a population of 2 combined with another population of 2 now gives us a total combined population of 4.

If we really want to make an impact on the planet we can start by cleaning up ACTUAL pollution. Drive through any large, or even average size, cities these days and look at the JUNK everywhere. We should be picking up after ourselves first before we try to dismantle the economy and give away our freedoms to those who refuse to live by the standards they demand we live by out of fear for the phantom world annihilation culprits.

Completely agree, and it goes both ways. “Sheep”, “kool aid”, etc. doesn’t welcome debate—it’s like the kid who’s the seventh to jump in the fight just to get a few kicks in. For me, insulting people and not the argument is a sign of weakness.

But hey, echo chambers are fun too!

I’ll give WeldrDave credit—for all of his passion and fire he still somehow manages to keep it respectful. :handshake:

Couldn’t agree more. This all or nothing type of discourse is counterproductive. If you aren’t seething with distrust for the government you’re a sheep and a communist, and if you are you’re a conspiracy theorist and a fascist. It needs to end, and the real discussion needs to take place in the arena of ideas.

While I 100% agree with you, don't forget there are people who still totally believe the whole covid thing as it was (and is being) told by the WHO, CDC, government etc etc etc.....

    Amen.

I trust the climate change scientists as much as I trust Bill Cosby bartending for "Ladies Night".

People will trust anything the television "program" tells them.
