I can definitely see the appeal in certain situations. I use my echo 2511p for trail maintenance on our property. A battery saw could replace it easily. It won't, not at this stage in my life, but might have to when I'm more of a geezer than I am now. Lol

I have a couple of those. I ported this one. It's a finicky, hard to keep tuned POS. That is seasoned hard maple. 18" semi chisel.

Some people can be easy to please. I bought a can of freeze dried banana chips for prepping stash, husband mentioned them a few times and asked, I answered they'll last years.... flash forward I ordered another can. He's all tickled, just in time for a 3 day weekend of hunting he's got ziplock baggies ready :)

Looks like most folks are stocking up and getting ready for Hurricane Lee to hit tomorrow . Everyone knows there will be extensive power outages. I fear that there will be some damage from falling trees. I have seen massive blow downs from other storms. This year I am not physically able to do anything about clean up etc. I have candles, batteries etc.
The reporters are down on the docks showing their interviews on national TV. The fishermen are working their butts off trying to secure their traps, boats, and other gear. We are in a tropical storm watch which will be more like a nor'easter. Looking like my relatives in Nova Scotia are going to get a direct hit. They have had it bad this year with fires and now this.

Hope you get no damage and keep your power. Stay safe!

Was under heavily overcast skies all of yesterday from the outermost band coming from hurricane Lee, which was disappointing as I've seriously only had one sunny day in a week (Thursday), and no partly sunny days in that time.

My area of NH should only see wind gust of 30-45 mph and little, if any, rain. My particular microcosm hasn't seen too much rain lately so the ground isn't as saturated like other parts of the state. So my expectation is the wind alone may not be enough to take down any healthy trees. But, I made sure my back up batteries are topped off just in case so I can keep the fridge going for days if needed.

A battery saw would definitely have its purposes. Especially if you have the few too long pieces that you can now cut inside. Might have to watch the chip flinging direction though ;)

So far, we have had very little impact from Hurricane Lee. Wind is blowing and there is some rain. Last I knew, about 7000 without power. I was anticipating much more from this. Looks like further east is getting hit harder. That is the really poor section of the state. Very little support services etc. in that area. This storm seems like a mid level nor'easter. Damage will be from down trees and coastal erosion
