I'm curious about what older Husqvarna chainsaws are must haves and items that still hold value. AND what would you pay for one used? I came across a Husqvarna 350 for $100 and compared to what I've seen out there, most 350s go for $250-300. I love the Husqvarna 350 (I've used for many years) and am curious about other popular models you all value.

    242xp, 254xp, 262xp, 266xp, 268xp, 272xp, 288xp.
They gave up on saw design after the 2 series.
It depends on condition and how much money is my pocket.

I see the 55 Rancher quite often in great condition, what are they worth?

350 isn’t a collectible Husky. It’s a plastic homeowner saw. Personally, I wouldn’t give more than $150 for a clean one. I love em too…. ported with a 346 top end they are the bees knees.

288’s are . Especially with the high top and eliminator hoods. 200 series are rubber antivibe and not the best at damping the motor. I don’t like em for that reason. I flipped an almost minty 272 that sold for 500.
300’s are spring damping and much better smoothing that engine vibe out. Newest gen 500’s another level beyond that.
346 & 357’s are special, as are 394’s and 5’s. Closed port 365 Special is a great one too. Old edition 372’s are one of the best saws ever made. That’s pre-xtorq. The older 371’s are very desirable as well.

I'd like to have a 268 or 272, but I would use it and couldn't see paying more than $400 for one. As Chud mentioned, the super minty ones fetch a pretty penny. Did I mention I haven't bought one?

266/268/272, there is a 268 later model open port that in my opinion isn’t collectible. 372XPW (the 75cc version) either version of the 346, are 2 others nice collectible saws that hold their value. The 266 and 268 and 372XPW (75cc) jugs are NLA here, there are some still on the net from Italy that are spendy, so take that into consideration on price point. You can convert the 266 and 268 to a 272 which jug is still available, but you will need at a minimum a new intake and screws to put a 272 jug on a 266. The early 266 will also need to swap to the larger 224A carb to realize the full potential of the 272 top end. Top covers for the 266 are NLA and finding nice ones is getting harder and harder.

Word on the street is out about all the 346 convertible variants, even in red, this is because very few are turning loose of either version of the 346. I drove 2 hours 1 way to pick up a clean unmolested 353 to convert to a 346.

I seem to collect 345/353/350/346. They get tossed in the trash every day, and it makes me sick. People throw away great stuff because of our "disposable" society.
I have a dozen saws sitting on the shelf waiting to be fixed. Unfortunately the cost of good parts does not allow me to even break even on rebuilds.

Run of the mill used, around me, $4-500. Really clean/minty ones can and usually do fetch $600 and up.

And just to show a quick identifier, the old edition (OE) 372 used the side decomp(blue button), like this:
    upload_2023-9-5_14-33-55.jpeg

Here you can see on the left saw (an xtorq model), on the top cover right were the handlebar rubber ends there is a bump in the plastic. That's for top decomp, vs the OE on the right (top cover is smooth). Oldies are more desirable.
