Does anyone know where to find plans for a large storage shed that INCLUDES a roof and sides? There are lots of online construction plans for "wood piles," but they don't include roof/sides to protect from rain and ind.
Burn Wise: How to Build a Wood Shed | US EPA and associated video. I helped a buddy male two of these last year. And the post below this one has a cool wood shed: Finally got the wood shed completed If you intended to write protection from wind then you should consider you want to allow wind because it helps speed up the seasoning process. It's discussed a lot on here, the consensus is the more you enable wind (and sun) exposure to a wood pile the faster the seasoning.
Yes, welcome samuel . Should be plenty of ideas from members here once you do a little searching as someone always has a shed in progress. I also agree about allowing the wind in for drying.
Welcome. Agree with the other guys, plenty of ideas on line, and keeping sides open to allow air flow. Picture of a simple one I built a couple years ago, works well. Good luck to you.
I very much appreciate your answers, but during the winter, it won't be "airflow, " it will be rain flow. And the wood will get soaked. And we use the wood during the winter. Tarps get torn and ruined. I want to attach hard (presumably wood) sides during the winter that can be removed during rain free months. So, again, that's why I am asking whether anyone knows of plans for a storage shed with sides, especially removable sides? Thanks!
These plans call for 12' x 3.5', but I made mine 16'x 5'. As for the sides, I wanted the airflow, but you could put those side planks closer together to enclose it. Good luck, Samuel, and welcome.
Don't have any drawn up plans, but here is 2 sheds we built with pallet sides. Allows air flow, yet spacing on boards helps keep the wood dry, also more overhang on the roof helps too... This shed is 11 x 15 x 8... This shed is 7 x 6.5 x 14...
What about simple shutters on hinges? Open in the summer and close in winter/rain. Another option would be some metal siding that you remove in the dry weather.
Been ready to hang the second set of doors for a while. Probably lose up shop this weekend. After pulling the jewel weed.
samuel first welcome to the FHC second forget about removing the sides just build 3 foot overhangs.. much easier
