    Good day to all,

Is the white stuff in the center of this Hickory fungus and should I be concerned ?

    Thanks for any input

Ive seen that in other species as well. Split it, stack it, dry it, then burn it. Seems to find little cracks or gaps in the log.

I’ve never run into any issues with it. My wife has fairly severe allergies, especially mold and she’s never complained about it in the house.

Kinda somewhat common in decaying wood. I found a huge batch in a crotch once.
It smelled pretty bad but dried up once exposed to light/air/dry.
    Same crotch I found earthworms.

Is it too late to tell you the wood is contaminated and you should bring it all to my place for safe disposal?
