    First time this tree has grown a pair in (as far as I know) 70 years.
    There was a pair of trees but one died a few years ago in a drought. Hoping they're pollinated and not empty.

    I found that if I want to beat the squirrels to them (before they open up) harvest in late September and let them finish ripening indoors, inside the bur. Once they start opening they’re ready.
