Have come to the conclusion that my latest project is in need of a pull cart. Wondering what other members have or have used to tote heavy items around. I am thinking this will fit the bill for me, but welcome input. GCG-4 (-C) - Gorilla Needed for moving rocks, debris and dirt around a small site where a machine and trailer are cumbersome. Has a nifty dump feature. What do you all have?
I have a gorilla cart, not quite that model it's a tad bigger and it's a great buy. I've had it for years and beat the hec out of it. This year two of the tires finally gave out, but I think I hit something pulling it with the GT. It's very useful and has held up well, dump feature is nice.
A customer let me use his large Gorilla cart for moving firewood to his storage rack. Very tough and well made. Only thing I didn't like was controlling it going down hill with a full load. Thinking back, maybe I could have turned it around and held onto the handle instead of it pushing me down hill.
Many wheelbarrows. I know someone who has that or a similar one. Ive used it at his place and very handy.
Gorilla Cart for the win. I bought mine about 5 years ago and it's moved enough firewood to heat my house in as many years. It's great for dumping out a load with a quickness, and the handle converts to hook up to the back of the lawn tractor. I don't think there's anything about it that I don't like.
I would not buy anything plastic for rocks and firewood. I have bought plastic wheel barrels before and busted them up on first use. If your hauling leaves and dirt, plastic may work. I do not use a pull cart. I have 3 double wheeled wheel barrels with steel tubs.
It will be used when it is below freezing out...this has been a concern. They offer a steel hopper version, but it is quite a bit more expensive. The project it will be for is explicitly meant to be done 'on the cheap'. I'm confident that I can keep from breaking the tub in warmer weather, but do have concerns about it in low temps.
I ended up purchasing two preowned power wagons for $425 each. I use them a lot more than I thought I would and hardly ever use the wheel barrow or carts any more.
He sold his wheel barrows and wagons after getting it. Now that he's older and wore out I've tried to get him to get a small tractor with a loader but he says he has no use for one yet he's hauling stuff around in a box he had made for the back of his rider. He used that Dr. power unit all the time so I think he'd love a little loader tractor. He has a 4x4 diesel tractor but nothing on it. Cub cadet built by Mitsubishi. 33 hp I think.
I did a harbor freight version- green "steel" mesh with no sides, I have my electric splitter and other associated tools for haul in and out of the garage. Pretty big fan of the way it has been working out. The run flat tires are good to never think of them again, but I have pneumatic tires and I think I like them better. I can air up or down like if you're going "off roading". Much easier on the back to use a cart than to hustle on with a wheelbarrow.
