    Good morning everyone

First time posting here. Just curious if there might be anyone in the Western NC area who might be interested in helping out here and there with a local firewood ministry. We take in wood donations throughout the year (folks donating trees fallen from storm damage, land clearing, or extra firewood etc) buck, split and stack and then when someone in need reaches out, we take a pickup truck load out to them. Its been difficult finding consistent help lately. If anyone has any thoughts or advice I'm interested in that to!

    Work hard and stay safe!

Sounds like you have a good thing going and I wish you well. There are some who may have some good ideas who will chime in.

I will say a GTG (get-together) can work out great many times. For example, in June a bunch of us gathered in PA and cut some trees to clear an area for a conservation club. We also bucked and split several cord for them. Of course that did not stop the fun or the eating, etc.

At my place we gather each spring to cut, eat and play. We also go to a neighbor's to put up his winter supply as he is no longer able to do it.

walt also has a ministry along with some others and then in the fall we have a GTG to help out.

    Good luck.

The small town we weekend in up in VT has a similar setup; Firewood Pantry. I think it’s a wonderful way to help people out. I wish you all the best! I think Dennis has some great ideas; make it communal event and the help should roll in.

I know some boys in Surry county that would donate wood if you are reasonably close.

We are about 2.5 - 3 hrs further west in Buncombe County. Might be a bit of a haul for them! But thanks!

A GTG would be a great way to get a lot of wood cut ahead.
