Doing a storm clean up and wondering if this is sugar maple or a soft maple. Either way keeping the wood just wondering what I'm working with. Thanks

I say soft as usually sugar has a rougher bark especially on the bigger stuff.

At that young age it's very hard to tell red/silver and sugar apart just by looking at the bark. Do you have any leaf pictures?

So very true. A image of the leaf would help. As someone posted previously I think we can rule out Norway maple and it could be silver, sugar or red as I think the smaller branches look similar with those types. If I had to guess I'd say red maple.

Hard to tell with smaller rounds. Sugar and red the bark is smoother on rounds that size. Pics of the biggest round bark would help. Any leaf pics Jdu94?

After seeing the pics of bigger wood I’m thinking silver maple.
