One of my YouTube friends sent out a friendly challenge for folks to hand split 5 rounds of firewood.

Splitting 5 pieces of wood would be a challenge for me. Been using hydraulics for several years now. Easier on the back, quicker, and surprisingly still good physical activity.

That man is all muscle. How many of us can say that about our own bodies? Hate to see anyone get hurt. In my years of health care, I have seen so many preventable injuries. First think prevention. Like maybe some eye protection. Gloves would help. And I do think a wood splitter is warranted if you are going to be splitting any real amount of wood.

    Dang. I hand-split 5 CORDS.

I gotta get me a splitter.

If it's good straight wood like you have in the video I'll split alot by hand. It's faster and keeps me healthy. Go to hydraulics on the tough stuff.
