    That’s so typical of any Ash I’ve split in CT Brad. It’s rare to find any without punk these days it seems.

    Very true. Id love to find more like the score i had last Fall. All barkless and solid. For some reason the tree lost all its bark like a dead elm would before being cut down.

    Anyone experienced dead ash that instead of rotting turns rock solid and hard to cut? Came across that on a few logs the last few days.

    I’ve seen that on ash where the bark fell off while standing dead, like elm.

    Load i scored last Fall was more or less like that. Sort of reminded me of dead BL or elm.
