Survived the hang out session today with my OPE buddies. Pulled pork turned out great and my buddy Tim brought a Amish made peach pie. All kinds of fat and happy on the couch now

This was even better, Berried Delight! The london broil, mashed potatoes and a hot tomato salad was the start of adding calories back in the system.

Other than hand tools my power tools are 2 chainsaws and a garden tractor. I don't cut down more than 2 trees at a time. I have to get them cut and brushed out and cleaned up before going to the next tree. I don't spend more than 3-4 hours per day on this project. I can't work as longer hours before I crash. The older I get, the slower I work. The heat this week may force me to cut back on the hours worked. 90's in the forecast all week.

I know the feeling and can relate to that 100%!!

Lucky for me, I am able to work early in the day without disrupting neighbors. When they are at there cottages, I will start work at 9:00 ish.

Sounds like my schedule. I don't have any close neighbors I would bother with a little noise.

At the farm, I’ll start at the crack of dawn.

At the house in town, the neighbor goes to work at 6am and the concrete precast place often starts as early as 7am.

I’ll shut down for heat as early as 10 am.

Randomly got sick this afternoon out of nowhere and had chills and high fever. I've been in the bedroom away from the wife and kids because I don't want them sick. Got a couple of cold wash clothes I'm rotating and binge watching the group of movies that are my go to when I'm sick. I hardly ever watch TV anyway.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
    Magnum Force
    Hamburger Hill

My extended list I haven't got to are:

Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory (the good one with Gene Wilder)
The Time Machine (the good one with Rod Taylor)
    Vanishing Point
    Plains, Trains and Automobiles
The Out of Towners (with Jack Lemon)
    Treasure Island (1950's version)
    Jaws
Anything with Jim Varney as Ernest

Anyone do the same to perk you up?

Got home from the road at 4:15pm today.

Got the truck cleaned out to let it sit for a few day and not use power. Basically cleaned out the fridge and turned it off and took the bedding in to do laundry.

by 5:15 pm I was splitting wood and I got another face cord done in about an hour….

I may get this hardwood done yet this week.

I went out this morning to drop a couple trees before it heated up. I cut a popple which promptly got hung up in a cherry tree. I then cut a red oak to help get the popple on the ground. That worked almost perfectly. It broke the top of the cherry tree off so now I have an extra tree to process. I will continue to work on those 3 tomorrow.

I watch quilting and sewing videos. Or different aquarium/terrarium builders. Woodturning videos are good too. Puts me to sleep.

Have you seen the movie Hollywood Knights. About a car club on Halloween night in California in 1969. Lots of cool rides in it..

Ugh. Forecast for the rest of the week is upper 90's and low 100's. I'm going to need to find a few indoor projects for the evenings.

Dude...yes lol. I like towards the end, after the two cops have been pranked and made fun of all night, the cop Bimbo says to the other "well I guess we really kicked their little 'butts' tonight".

It is raining again. This time it is wicked thunderstorms. We missed the storms that came through last night. Others were not so fortunate. More roads washed out. Maine is mostly small towns with rural budgets. The damage is in the millions and there is no sign the rains are going to end anytime soon. Lewiston was shown on TV with badly flooded roads and a warning not to try to travel on them. (Someone will always try to go through them and get stuck). Past couple of years were on the dry side.
