I was a bit bummed but at least the cylinder and piston are minty. Allows me to build that "big bore" sleeper.

It's the nastiest I've see yet inside a 2stroke engine.

Sweet with a full wrap! Got one on my 400. Once you have black you never go back! Is there a specific reason guys dye/paint their Stihls black?
I see it fairly often while browsing FBM/CL for saws.

I dyed a few covers a while back just to see if I could do it right, 2 got smashed because they are hard to see, I wouldn't do it again.

Chain rehab day. Couple loops hit metal so the gullet needed got as did rakers.

I can't get pix to come out all that great, but I'm in the same boat with hitting some crap out in the woods. I had a few corners knocked off and was putting some love to those chains.

I use a more acute angle on the top plate than the side plate and it cuts fast and doesn't seem to affect it holding an edge too much. I'm pretty happy with the way it cuts. As you see, I'm using the Archer chain and it seems to be OK for me. I used to use only Stihl chain and it seemed to hold an edge longest, but I'm OK with this stuff.

I use a double bevel file most of the time but sometimes grab the triangle with the edge to get the side plate. Small round file gets the gullet cleaned out first though for me, easier on the files that way.

Looks fast! Outstanding file work Monte.
Takes me about 5 pics of a tooth to get one I’d post here.
I geek out on this stuff Brad. I spend more time trying to achieve perfection than is needed, no doubt.

In all seriousness, I want to get in on the square grinder deal but currently I have a though time justifying one considering the type of cutter I am. But, I was able to "justify" $1000's of dollars in saws I don't need so I'm sure I'll come around on the grinder too.

Even used, if you can find one, they are not cheap. If I didn't cut as much as I do, I would have stuck with hand filing it.

    No doubt.
