Speaking of nuts, He/she paid us a visit while I was out tinkering on me tractor. Luckily my ugly still works and it took off! STB, please have a chat with your relatives and tell them that fence does work very well. But don't ask me how I know!

Thank god it rained last night, it'd been almost 36 hours since the last storm. Was worried we'd be in a drought again. :p

Lori back in the hospital for esophageal varices again. Happened Tues nite. She felt woozy, was sitting at dining room table when she just started vomiting blood , passed out, fell from the chair and hit the floor. Called ambulance, endoscopy Wed banded off 6 bleeders. They gave her 4 bags of blood.

Doesn't seem to be much docs can do. Lori has issues with the only 2 meds that control blood pressure in the liver (Nadolol affects her vision, Propranolol makes her woozy and gives her severe fluid retention). Her liver doc looked at me yesterday and said that there are no real warning signals, so basically she'll have these off and on going forward and just call an ambulance and we'll band off the bleeders. Wonderful, so any time I leave the house I could come home to find her on the floor in a pool of blood again.

The doc mentioned looking into a TIPS procedure. A shunt is placed between the incoming and outgoing arteries in the liver to reduce blood pressure to the esophagus. But this has side effects as now the liver is only cleansing 1/2 of the blood passing thru so ammonia and other toxins are in the blood. So there are a few meds one has to take to combat that. She has a consult with a doc who does those to see if she is a candidate for the procedure but we both are a little leery about it.

Gotta order pellets this week. Vermonts are out of stock at Fallons, $415/ ton at East Coast Lumber but in stock.

Finally made some big gains on the snow cat.

After a long sojourn the front sheet metal is on....

Rigged up the front clip this morning and sat that bad boy on the rig.

Came out very good....The overall fit is great.

Now comes the radiator, fan shroud and the supports for the tilt front end
    Lotsa fun

We'll be setting up a consult with Leahey Hospital in Burlington, MA where she had her 2nd gall bladder surgery. The doc who did it has a wing named after him, is head of the liver transplant dept and really knows his stuff.

They (docs & nurses at the hospital) tell us that people have these bleeders all the time and as long as one gets to the ER quickly your fairly OK. My worry is because one loses a lot of blood, you can pass out and injure yourself. Lori fell out of the chair when she passed out, just missed smacking her head on the wall and twisted her right ankle when she fell.

Lori came home this afternoon. The current plan from her docs is to have her come in every 3 months or so for an endoscopy so they can see if there any potential bleeders and fix them before they rupture. Nice little business for the hospital as an endoscopy is $8k. Fortunately Medicare and Lori's supplemental covers most of it.

Glad Lori is home, now you know one of the many ways greenbacks are sucked out of the system.
