Matched last July as of today and have another delivery in the morning. One of today’s deliveries was to a triple burner. Inside fireplace, patio fireplace and a pizza oven. $50 tip was much appreciated. One of the other deliveries was to the neighbors. Took less than 2 minutes to back into the the other driveway.

Was feeling comfortable about my upcoming winter firewood supply until today. You can never have enough split and seasoned firewood

So, have doubled my sales over last July and have over a week remaining. I have had to re-split my white oak, cherry and hickory that I had scheduled to sell in September since it was reading in the high teens moisture wise. I don't really get it since is has been in the mid 90s all this month in Nashville. My last customer said they just like sitting in their back patio watching the flames. Great, but I like being inside with the AC running hard. It has been raining 2-4" a day for I don't know how long. Supposed to be dry for the next two weeks, so hope to get cutting again.

49AAF325-C7A6-46EF-AF50-774AEA3AD204_1_201_a.jpeg Made a two face cord delivery to one of my best restaurant customers today. One of the chefs gave me a tour and showed me the oven they cook with. He said everybody loves the firewood I provide and the stacking I do outside the back. Was happy to hear I am making them all happy.

When rain is expected for a delivery, I load my truck and put it inside my garage. That way I am always delivering dry firewood.

How do you keep it dry while driving? Got a cover for the bed?

Three more deliveries today!!! Christmas in July. Bummed I didn't get to cut today since it was 62 degrees this morning. Have the rest of the day to split and stack though. One more sale and I'll have tripled last July's. And I though last July was a good month. Hickory, white oak and Cherry in that order is what is in demand.

"Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit Two", That was in Little Creek correct? I knew a couple of those guys over there. I worked Briefly, TAD in the Amphib side. I was an HT in the Navy, was a pressure welder for steam, HP/LP and catapult and arresting gear.
I was on a Knox class out of Charleston SC, then a brief hop to NOB for a year, SIMA, then Newport, Rhode Island. I did the Med with the battle group America during the Libya BULL$#!T in 1986.

Load #110 today from my Dad's friends property. Found another three trees down while cutting up this 22" white oak. The under growth is getting about six feet high which makes it difficult to see more than 10-20'. Spent 20 minutes with my machete clearing my tree before cutting. Turned me into a sweat bomb before I started cutting and hauling.

Hauled home #111; 1/2 cord of white oak. My main wood yard is to the right and left of my splitting shelter. About 16-18 cords on each side. Took me awhile to figure out just line both sides of my gravel road. Makes loading for deliveries extremely easy, but I am now wheelbarrowing long distances. Don't mind since it is great exercise. Have another 750 pallets of storage room available if I line both sides to my property entrance. I discovered a gold mine of free pallets last week and will be hauling ten home every time the wife and I go grocery shopping.

So, I have a retired doctor who has three homes and a pyromaniac wife (according to him) that has been a regular customer for three years now. He always wants four face cords in August. So delivering him his order this weekend. I stacked his normal three face cords of white oak and one of hickory a few weeks ago in anticipation of his order. With tip, around 11 Benjamins coming home to roost.
