Those of you that have a Kubota Bx with the quick connect hydraulic manifold know..that they can be hit or miss when they come to sealing up. I had 4 years of pretty good service up until the beginning of summer. Nothing I could do to stop it from leaking. It got bad..so I found a kit online that came with everything..including instructions.
Was a little pricey .....but considering it came with everything....and I didn't have time for mistakes or crappy parts...I ordered it..and installed it today.
This switches it over from the flat face couplers...to ...in my opinion...the better old school pioneer couplers.
I can definety say..so far..so good..and i feel good about it ! What a piece of cake. Took abt an hour...thats with taking the loader off...degreasing the area...and having coffee !
Seems like a nice solid upgrade ...over the Kubota single point connector. A good idea...just not a great one.
My loader comes off once a week when the grass is growing strong...so no time for a hassle.
    Before and disassembly..

    Reassembly and after

I'm a believer that these caps do more harm than good most of the time. So I decided to leave the color rings on...but cut off the rest. Ill store the caps in my tool box where they will stay clean..if I decide to use em ever .

If everything is not kept clean, then yes.

    Exactly !
To me..they just give a false sense of security.
Where I use to work....5 different guys could run the same machine. Most would just smoosh the caps on no matter what crud was in them....or on the couplers. So then I'd have to clean the inside of the cap...then the fittings.....because out of those 5 guys...my Dad actually taught me to care..even if it wasn't my machine.

So at least with the caps gone...it saves me a step somewhere down the line lol.

That would be the case most of the time lol. Sometimes I just have to idiot proof things. But they always seem to find a way lol

It's tough being the anal guy that actually cares...and will take the extra minute.

Sometimes I wonder what it's like being the other way...

And people wonder why I’m not a big fan of rental attachments for my skidsteer and “sharing hydraulic fluid”.

I'm like you. To the extreme in fact. It gets tiring.

I agree 1000%. I most definitely would never cross contaminate my system with rental trash.

Personally I like caps and plugs as they protect the males from seal damaging scratches, burrs etc and the plugs keep out sand and stuff.
However I feel that the most important thing is a rinsing with brake cleaner before connecting.
