The blueberry patch continues to produce, with more to ripen. All the rain we've has made the plants happy! These are mostly low bush plants. I'd pick more but my back tells me when I've picked enough.
Seems I’ve got a hungry animal getting into my garden. I used some old stickers for mill wood to tighten up my fence. Guess the sweet potato plants are tasty. I’ll be watching the yard closely for that waskly wabbit. That little red thing was on one of my sweet pepper plants. At least I think it was. Better check the tag to make sure it’s not a hottie.
Garden looking great The Wood Wolverine . Deer got into my sister's garden and took out her cukes, and tomato plants. Will you make jam with those berries lukem ? I don't have enough for a batch yet. Deer reached over the fence and took out my one potato plant. Cherry tomatos really coming on as well as cukes. I planted 2 watermelon plants and curently only have 2 watermelon growing and they're on the same vine. My other plant looks healthy and is growing like crazy, but has nothing going on
I thought it was deer eating off my sunflowers and I guess it could be. I planted seeds about every 20” the whole way down my wood stack. Only a few are still there. So frustrating. I dusted them heavily with seven to deter but that didn’t seem to work.
BTDT... The old "I'm gonna nibble on this tomato, then the one next to it, plus those 15 over there, just in case they taste any differently. Don't want to finish any single one because they're all so good" I had that problem bad last year with the drought.
As much of those tomatoes they ate looks like a sizeable animal. Almost hard to think that was done by something small enough to fit through the fence. Looks a lot like what I have had a few times with groundhogs. Last one I shot out the bedroom window.
I’ve trapped a chuck or two. There’s no way one is getting through that fence and I’d see a hole if it burrowed under. I wouldn’t rule out deer but I see no tracks.
lukem Our blackberries are in full bloom now but as we haven't been getting any appreciable rain, I don't think they are going to amount to much.
So sheriff Roscoe alerted my wife today that the game camera needed brought over to the garden. Here’s the pics I was sent while sawing away on a horse chestnut tree today. Gotcha bass turd. Can almost smell my tomato’s on his breath! Only way he got in was climbing over my fence. So was this common knowledge that wasn’t common to me? Took him about a mile up the road to state lands. I can’t pew pew in my little burg.
