Today was an odd day, and the grand finale was tonight...I came home from work and my wife asks if I was in the storage room recently, maybe knocked some stuff over? I said nope, haven't been in there in weeks. She said stuff is all over the place like there was a lil earthquake...she also said our daughter heard a crash down there yesterday. So I went down and sure enough, stuff knocked all over the place...in the furnace room too. I'm standing there scratching my head when I noticed that the OAK pipe to the Kuuma wood furnace was not attached to the vent through the window anymore, and the screen was off the outside part of the vent too. Uh oh.
It was about that time I noticed the wood shavings on the floor...the door trim had been chewed on by some critter! So I go looking around but didn't see or hear a thing...until I get the flashlight out...there it is, a stinkin groundhog hiding under the snowmobile in the basement garage!
I had my .22 air rifle out back trying to get a shot at one of his buddies earlier, so I had to go get the rifle, but then I'm thinking maybe I should get the box trap out, rather than ventilate this dude in the basement...but what kind of bait do you use for a groundhog?! I went back in with the rifle and managed to find him between the snowmobile and the dirtbike "hiding" in a pile of wood shavings he had dug out of a plastic tote that was sitting there (my fire starter stash)...well he didn't move, and I thought the wood shavings would probably soak up the potential mess...perfect!
So, how many here have ever shot a groundhog in your house?
Oh, and to top it all off, I found my truck totally covered in bird poop...it was fine when I drove it Monday! Not sure if I parked under some sort of goose flight path or what?! :hair:

This morning the scale read 199 ( a new low ) for a weight loss of 28.2 pounds.

Since it was a new low for me, I used the push mower and did the yard around the house, I'm hoping with that workout and one 12 minute session on the treadmill, that will drop my weight below 199.

Three more days and the diet is over but I will continue counting calories and one 12 or 15 minute session on the treadmill per day.

So far today my calorie intake is 1503, it should be higher but I'll wait until I see what the scale reads tomorrow morning.

I mowed the lawn today for over two hours for my workout, they say with a push mower you burn between 350 - 450 calories an hour, I'll use the 350 for a total of 700 calories burned.

Made it through another birthday party at the carnival today, good time, the kids plum wore themselves out. Great day except what I consider indecent exposure. A young man was parading around in only a spandex bikini, chaps and a vest, you could see both front and back. How many kids did he expose at the carnival?

I mowed yesterday for about 1 hour and 15 minutes and my app said I burned 220 calories just by the steps I took (a bit over 6,500). But my app also knows I'm female, so it accounts for that. Males burn more calories than females just by breathing, then the heavier you are, the more calories used exercising. Anyway, all that to say, I think that 300 calories is a pretty safe bet to use.
