Nope, but I heard that something was coming...and for good reason, the EPA really chit down their leg with the phase one and two testing and requirements (2017 and 2020) turns out the testing and certification process was a complete joke and embarrassment, total bureaucratic bungle. I've been saying for a while now that they really need to be neutered, because the agency in its current form has completely outlived its usefulness. The amount of pollutants out of all the woodstoves in VT is a drop in the bucket compared to the Canadian wildfire smoke we've sucked in for the last month.
I really hope this thread stays put and is not perceived as "political". After all, the EPA is government and government=politics, no?
Situations and outcomes on issues like this appear to hinge on where one is positioned on the FHC "Pecking Order".
Doesn't "political or politics" generally / broadly mean elected persons? I don't believe that there's a single elected person in that whole bunch of idiot's. Just unelected, unaccountable and for the most part, unacceptable policy makers.... with an agenda.
So they are suing for stricter emissions because the epa standards are not good enough and their testing is ineffective.. smh Either way it doesn't sound like it's going to bode well for any of us.
I don't think some states/areas are going to be happy until they can come stick a probe down your chimney once a year testing for emissions compliance, or stick a meter on your chimney to tax you for CO2. They of course will need a database of installs, kinda like the database they want for personal gardens. I'm sure anyone who got a rebate is already on the list.
