I have a CS 590 with a 24" Tsumura bar. When I first put the longer bar on, I cranked the oiler all the way to the top setting.

Lately I've been getting the sense that the chain isn't getting enough oil. Sure enough, when I finished my last gas tank, the oil tank was still about half full.

Where should I look first to try to fix this problem?

Are you positive the bar is for an Echo? I had to search pretty hard to find the correct Tsumura for my 501P. Chain size is not the issue. Proper oiler ports are. Maybe take a close look on how the ports line up with the oiler when the bar is mounted. If it is the correct bar, you could bore out the oiler port a tad. My 501 oils like a beast. I have to turn it down with an 18" bar. Most of my saws are cranked to max. Not my Echos. lol My old top handles will just slather out oil.

I'm in agreeance, I'd look at the oil hole on the bar. Can you snap and post a pic? A small dremel bit can open up that hole a little if its too small. I did this to both my Sugihara bars but I don't think the Tsumura needed it.

I examined the Tsu and factory bar side by side. The CS 590 manual says that the 2 large holes straddling the stud channel are the “oiling holes”. You can see in the pic below, on the factory bar there is a port between those holes and the chain groove, which the razor is able to fit through. That port doesn’t exist on the Tsu bar.

Is this the problem? I think I am outside of the return period on the Tsu. How likely would I fix it if I put it up on a drill press and widen the holes to reach the chain groove?

I’d just grind the Tsu holes higher till it accessed the bar groove.

I converted a Stihl mount to Husky because I got a good deal on the bar. I used grease to leave a mark where the oil is applied from the saw, then messaged the bar to accept oil from there. The original hole ended up being a little too high and wept oil so I closed it with some JB Weld.

Thanks for your help, good to know someone else has had to deal with this type of issue. I will post an update when I get around to the oiler hole modification.

For now I have the 20” back on with a freshly sharpened chain.
