Got two tanks about month ago that Dad had gotten me that had syrup in it… Talk about a sticky situation……. Been playing with some ideas… buddy got me the hinges. Found some conveyor leg holders that I salvaged from recycling at work… I wanted the door to be wide enough for my shoulders and to be able closed shut afterwards. I’m just going to do one to see if it’s what I want… I know I won’t be able to fill all the way and move with JD…
Interesting take on the humble IBC cage, Kev. Will be looking forward to your thoughts down the road.
Some nice modifications there Kevin. Hope they meet your expectations. How full before the JD wont be able to move them?
Nicely done I did something very similar a few years back...only no hinges, I cut the door out, then cut an inch or so off its height, then welded a short piece of round stock inside the top and bottom of the 2 vertical tubes of the door...the bottom round stock stuck out an inch, the top about 2 inches. To remove the door you simply pick up and pull the bottom out to disengage it, then the whole door will drop out. I ended up not using it for the same reason, my lil forklift can't pick them up, due to the load center being too far out. It'll pick up 1000 lbs, but the load center can only be something like 9-10" from the mast...load center on those totes is double that, at least.
