Ok, who's got the best price shipped i've got 2 of them, one is at least 80 yrs old, great shape, except for the handle. the other still has the sticker on the handle, The really old one belonged to my grandpa, its in need of a new handle, but, this week i plan on trying it out, i gave it a good rub down of linseed oil, and sanded the handle a little bit, hoping the linseed oil will wake up the wood. it does have a fairly large crack in it, but, if i'm careful, and use my head, it'll work just fine. Guess we'll see, might send some pictures of it and the property i'll be cutting wood on.
Sand the handle prior to linseed oil application, then use it till it breaks. If a new handle is needed remember that grain orientation is as important with a can't hook or Peavy as it is with an axe.
