As expected, a great time was had by all. I am disappointed that conditions here precluded us from visiting yet again. But was very happy to have Backwoods Savage and T.Jeff Veal and Miz Carol visit our place. The membership here is top notch, awesome folk with a true and proper mindset. Ok.. Aside from myself, eatonpcat, and brenndatomu It has been a pleasure to meet and spend time with so many great people. Looking forward to many more GTG's.. even if flying solo.
I'm going to load up a bunch of pics that my wife took while she was there, I'll try to narrate them some too, not sure I'll get that done tonight before running out of time and the edit option goes away...but I'll guess we'll walk through that issue if needed. Their trout pond. The residents...there were some nice size fish in there! The property caretakers got us a can of fish food (kibble) for the kids to throw to the fish...once they know you have fish treats, they follow you around the shore like puppy dogs! We tried to get a pic of bigfoot, but no dice...although we did catch a pic of an ultra rare Allegany Alligator right before he slipped into the water. The outdoor kitchen...works really we for an FHC GTG! The pavilion right across the driveway from the kitchen. Stream in front of the main cabin...you can see their woodshed, outdoor kitchen, and pavilion in the background there. Play area for the kids. Another cabin on the property...I think they call it the trap house...between this, the kitchen, and the skeet shooting range (our processing area, and camp area) these areas were our hang out area mostly...well, and the shooting range for some. Taking down another pine in the area where the club plans to build a multi-purpose building in the next few years. If you look closely they have a line on the tree to pull out out into the clearing (to the right) Scotty limbing trees in the clearing. More to come...
Great Pics, we have a few to post yet. My A$$ had sores on it from getting around Phila yesterday, what a MESS and I was beat from that drive so I didn't get much done, will do today.
Here's some other pics similar to Mr. brenndatomu's , If there is one thing near and dear to my heart besides firewood, it's a beautiful gun range and lodge. I can't stress enough how tranquil and peaceful it was up here. (YEAH) a gun range... I also must admit, I did not participate in the C/S/S fun, once again I was plagued with joint pain and felt like a bump on a log for not doing any thing. I was a GREAT watcher though and all the gang surly didn't need me, walt and a couple others had it ALL orchestrated like a Swiss clock! The crew here was AWESOME! welcomed us all with open arms! This is what FHC is about. It was so awesome to meet some really great folks! I did not get any cutting/action pics, couldn't hold a Beer and a camera at the same time! buZZsaw BRAD know's all about this, Right Brad? Chrissy and I had a wonderful time, Scotty Overkill and blacksmith made the wheels turn! They are really blessed out there with such great folks. Anyway, here's a few pics...
I also wanted to note; Scotty's Pizza cooking just ROCKED! I really didn't need to get Fat'r but DAM that was some good pizza! He has a slice of heaven at his home, the work he has done is Incredible! It was so Good to see my Buddy Backwoods Savage again! He somehow managed to drag Charlie with him, Great Guy!, "For a Sub Sailor" (I had to Charlie)... We know what's reality!
Thanks go to all but especially to Joe and Scotty for putting on such a great GTG. Also I want to apologize to all because I couldn’t participate much at all except the eating of good food. I am at my son’s place now and have to say I am better this morning. I can even get up from a chair without help.
I don't know what to say except "AMAZING"? Look at that picture of the gun range = spotless!!! Wow what a place ; this is truly a sportsman dream. This place looks beautiful, what a great turnout and the hospitality crew did an amazing job. Hats off gang. See you next year!
I know most of these... Starting at the left, 2 kids are Keith's (psuiewalsh from OPE), can't remember his daughter's name but Adam has the hat on. In between them is Owen Beecher. Then in the red shirt and beside in the hat are Steve (SBK1980 ) and Tanya Beecher, Tim (TurboDiesel ) wife and pooch, then Dave (brenndatomu ) and Brian (eatonpcat ) in the red hat. Just to the right of him is Kirk (not sure if he's on a forum) then Dave (definitive dave on OPE). Right behind him is Keith (psuiewalsh on OPE). Dave's wife Chrissy is standing to the left of Monte. Beside/behind her is Dave (WeldrDave ), then Monte is holding the sign (MAF143 ). I am behind him to the right (Jason - The Wood Wolverine), behind/beside me is Dennis (Backwoods Savage ). Next is T.Jeff in the yellow shirt (T.Jeff Veal ) with Miss Carol in from of him. Duane is to the right (Duane(Pa) ). Behind him is Charlie, Dennis son. Next 2 are Robin and Walt (walt ). Behind Walt is John (41FanForLife on OPE). Next one in the black shirt is Rodney's cousin Talon, and then Rodney (Leadfarmer ). Then Ryan (Mrxlh ), Mike (Glock37 ), Scott (Scotty Overkill ), Dan (PA Dan ), Mike (mike bayerl ), Nate (NateSaw on OPE) and the next one I'm unsure (in the red/orange shirt) and last but not least is Kaleb and Joe (blacksmith ). If I screwed up, please let us know.
What a bunch! A lot of names to remember and put to faces. Now everybody has some homework to do. Thanks for the pictures!
Thank you for the pictures and for the names. While I couldn't be there in person, I really do enjoy the pictures and any stories that go along with them. And yes, that pizza sure did look tempting. That sure was a fantastic location to hold the event. Did you have camps or tents to stay in? Must of had real toilets there.
Thanks y'all. We're down to one unknown... I'm pretty sure it's Rusty Spurs as I remember he made the turkey call. Not sure on forum name. 9) Hand made turkey box call with FHC and turkey tracks burnt into it from Rusty Spurs (FHC).
Some more random pics I took. Can't get over just how enjoyable it is to hang out with these folks, the only bad thing is the time just flies by!! The only smoke filling the holler up on Saturday afternoon was TurboDiesel s smoker cooking that delicious chicken! A view from the traphouse looking at Ornery-One’s Son and Leadfarmer s cous9n Tallon's campers. Great site for a GTG, so bear that in mind for next year if youre thinking of bringing a camper. Plenty of room for them here. MAF143 Monty holding the coveted Traveling FHC sign in preparation for our group pic. Next to him on his right is The Wood Wolverine, Backwoods Savage and Ornery-One’s Son, WeldrDave. To his left are a younger fella local to us who' getting into the scene (Kirk Whitmer), walt and T.Jeff Veal T.Jeff Veal and Carol being presented the sign. Who could think of better stewards for that sign?? They are the epitome of what it is to be a hoarder here! Wonderful people, inside out and upside down. Loved having them with us for the weekend! To their left are Psuiewalsh's (OPE) kids, definitive dave, Pauiewalsh, and The Wood Wolverine. Chilling on the traphouse porch is Kirk, TurboDiesel , SBK1980 and his wife Tanya (who made se amazing raffle prizes!)
Steve and Tanya in the foreground, John (41 FanForLife from OPE), PA Dan and walt enjoying some fellowship TurboDiesel, and brenndatomu and his lovely wife Tara and their kids Brodie and Chloe. What a fantastic family they are, truly enjoy their company!! PA Dan, T.Jeff Veal and his wife Carol, and Robin (walt s lovely wife). Love all these people! blacksmith , Tim (the club caretakers father), and RustySpurs chewing the fat.
