Got to these beech logs earlier today. I have a customer who will take it once split. I first figured there was about 80-85% of a cord here but now thinking it may just be a cord by itself. Either way, if it’s a little short, I’m topping it off to make a full cord with some black locust.

Beautiful morning for working on firewood. The high yesterday was 92. Today was 70 and clouds rolled in around 9am which was fine by me. I’ve cut almost all of the bigger diameter mixed hardwood I have and put by the tw6. We finished up an oak pile and it’s about 115’ long. Started working on cutting some Goldilocks and just under diameter oak. Put in 6.5 hours today and got about 8-10 cords total cut.

Never ceases to amaze me the sheer volume of firewood you produce. :salute:

Yeah what a difference in a day. Cloudy, breezy and nice here today. How about a whole Summer like this? Great for firewood making...tanning not so much.

I sent an SOS out to my main tree guy last night as this is all I have left to cut. Will have this done by Wednesday. He got back to me and said his yard is full so that wouldn’t be a problem.

Interesting burl on that one log. What will you do with it?

Don't see what log. Sometimes I get working and don't really look at a log until I'm about to cut it. I don't have a person for burls so probably cut it off and toss in the wood boiler.

Post #125. Looks like a white walnut log with either a burl or some sort of "tumor" on it.

Have already sold 20 cords this year and think 75 total for the year is possible. Have only missed three days of cutting in the past six weeks. A delivery and picking up glasses for my wife got in the way of cutting today. My cherry and hickory is selling very well the past 8 weeks.

Wait, what? I don’t know how many years it’s been since this area of ground didn’t have at least some logs on it. But shortly after the bare ground picture was taken, my tree guy paid me a visit.
