My Splitter is 675 lbs and it's really becoming a B!T@H to move around anymore. I removed the factory dog leg up front and bolted on a swivel trailer wheel rated for 1000 lbs.
As much as I don't like Harbor Freight because of the Chinese connection, I got a complete set up for $34.99. The old dog leg came off with a snap ring pliers and there was an existing plate in place. Clamped it to it and bolted it up. If it comes loose I'll throw a couple 1" welds top and bottom. I did cut the bolts shorter, I could see some flesh coming off my legs if I left them long. It flips up right into the spot the old one went to.
It now rolls much more better:D:cool:

Nice! I have that same splitter and have been thinking about doing the same. I like the adjustable height. I'm often on uneven ground and that would allow me to level the splitter in that direction. Does it feel secure enough with the clamp?

So far so good! I split mostly on the street or cement so this will work for me. Lifting this thing was killing my back! :( The dog leg is held on with s snap ring, you gotta look close but you'll find it. This fit right over the plate. If you need more pics, let me know, I'll get some close up ones.

Mine came off after about a year or so. Yard max didn't even answer me back when I sent them an e-mail. Chinese paint job! :headbang::hair: Oh well, I'll clean it up when I'm free and throw some primer on it.

The new 30-ton is a pain to move around as well, but no pavement here. Thought about one of the trailer dollies that I see around but more Chinese junk.

Nice job Dave! Some FHC engineering there. Not a fan of moving the splitter myself, neither is my hernia!

Learned a valuable lesson when using the ball hitch on my PU to move the splitter. ALWAYS make sure the "kick stand" is down when you go to set the splitter in place. Dropped on my finger!

Thanks Brad, I don't have to move far, and all on asphalt or cement. It's such a PITA picking the end up to go 75ft. Yeah, I feel it in my back and guts also, I know the feeling. If I was on all dirt or on my land up north, I would have left the dog leg.

That's one of the first things I changed on my splitter. Makes moving it around in the garage much easier.
I can still lift it onto the ball on my lawn tractor but the day will come when that becomes too much.

I have the county line 25 ton with the weird kickstand thing on the front. Going to cut it off and put one on like you did. Harbor Freight has them on sale this weekend for $29.99

After looking at the bolt on set up, it'll be fine but, I am going to make a plate out of 1/4" the size of the swivel plate, mark out the 4 holes where the bolts are and weld it to the existing plate on the splitter. It'll be stronger and take more abuse.
I'll update the tread and progress next week after Memorial day weekend.:) :usa:
