That's it. I've had it. Another new bar that is defective. This one is an oregon versacut and it leaks bar oil from the tensioner holes because they are not sealed off from the bar groove. I can see daylight coming from the tensioner holes when looking through the bar groove. I already had to dress this bar right out of the package because it had a 10° lean on the bar rails. It also has a bit of bend in it, but at least it cuts. It's driving me crazy. There is no quality anymore, just flashy advertising, empty warranties and false promises of quality.

The only one left to try is tsumura. Any bets on what might be wrong with one of those?

Some mounts oil through that hole. Might not be defect but wrong mount style. And those Versacuts are chicomm anyway so can't expect much, that's why so cheap.

Tsumura or Sugihara will be lightyears better in quality.

EDIT: but if you look hard enough, I'm sure you can find something.

This one oils through oil holes. I will see if I can get a refund and then pick up a tsumura or sugi bar.

I did price one out a while back. Spendy little buggers, but really nice. I might see what they want for one now.

Cannon are thee best. They’re also heavy and expensive.

I have one Tsumara bar that is holding up well.
I’ve never encountered a defective Stihl bar, or regular Husqvarna bar.
Never put enough time on my GB, or Forester Platinum to have an opinion on durability, but they are straight.

I have had great results from stihl bars too. And the older husky bars. The newer laminates are hit and miss. I had to look through a pile of laminated husky bars to get a decent one. The solids are fine.

Tsmurara & GB are about all I own & I have no complaints with either. I have 1 oregon versa cut & have been unimpressed with it.

I’ve had Tsumura on my Husky 365 for 12 years. I haven’t had to do anything to it except one bar tip replacement. Top quality, great looking bars.

I've never had any luck with laminated bars.

I have about 30 tsumura/total super bars from when I started running them back in the the 80s until now
They've held up exceptionally well just an occasional bar tip replacement.
I have no experience with sugihara and just a little on cannon but
Stihl,Carlton, windsor I've ran many of them with no issues
Oregon/Husqvarna seems to depend on the day it's made some wore very good some were butter soft.
But they were under 40.00 back then so worth it.
    I bought 7 24" versacuts a few years ago
And really have no complaints they have held up ok and were only 35.00 shipped back then.
They are much lighter than the tsumura lightweight bar's

I ran the versacut today and it is amazing how light it is. It didn't wear me out as fast as the heavier bars, even though the temps were near 90. The gap seems to be filling with crud so it leaks a bit less. Still not happy about it, but the bar is getting the job done.

Seems like this is the way of products these days where the only way folks will buy stuff is based on price alone. Glad the other one is up to your standards.

Ive used mostly Stihl bars and no complaints. Own one Tsumura bar but dont use that often.

I don’t know where the cut off is, but I believe it’s 24 or 28. The only Oregon bars made in US or Canada are above that length, and all of their shorter bars are made in China. Archer, Forester, Laser (with the Oregon 1 rivet tip), and most other small name brands are Chinese as well. Old GB bars are as good as any, newer stuff depends on the model and is hit or miss

Other than being heavy, I’ve never had an issue with forester bars. Actually have had good experience with the two Holzfforma bars that I ordered with my G660 and G444 32” and 28” respectively. No issues with the saws so far either. About 10 full cords cut with each so far.
