My house is 59 currently. It’s my yearly recertification and training week. (Did get out of it yesterday because I was doing something that we don’t schedule we are given the date upfront). Lunch break I’m going down a light the boiler.

House was at 66 this morning (since the outdoor was 28)

I built a fire in the NC 30. Basement warmed up from 60 to 69........main level warmed to 71 between sunshine and the basement wood stove.

Todays load. Whopping 10,000 lb 500 gal water trailer.

there’s 40,000 lbs worth of chains holding it in place.

Easier to just use my 1/2” chains because of the slot size in the trailer for the chains. 3/8” chains don’t fit the best but will work.

3/8” gr 70 chain has a 6600 lb Working load limit. My 1/2” chains are 12,300 lb WLL and the slots are rated for 9900 lbs.

the fact the parking brakes are all caged and disabled on the trailer, I’m OK with the extra securement especially on the rear holding it from going forward.

I don't know why, but I just hate snakes. Something about them that says Evil to me. Took me years to learn to tolerate them and leave them alone. So now I walk past them, but they still make the hair on my neck stand up.

About a 2 years ago I pretty much cut sugar out of my life. I will have something every once in a great while, but overall very limited. I didn't really miss it except for 1 thing: coffee. I always added a little to cut some of the bitterness.

Last week I was listening to a podcast and somebody mentioned adding salt to cut bitterness so I gave it a try. It really works. I'm talking like maybe 2-3 shakes from my salt shaker...may 1/16 of a tsp.

Everyone might already know this but I didn't and wish I did. Just passing it along.

Must be why I think putting salt on watermelon makes it taste sweeter...most of the melons you get anymore need all the help they can get.
