Hey guys. Gotta new chain off Amazon. Only used twice. Went to sharpen it this morning and the Pferd sharpener doesn’t even fit. Wtf is up?

I don't use safety chains, but it looks like between the safety bumper and how deformed that tooth is, it closed the gap enough to be an issue. I've rocked chains hard enough my file wouldn't fit worth a hoot under the top plate. So, maybe the tooth deformed out with yours, instead of down, like mine has.

There's also a good chance if you bought Stihl chain off Amazon, it could be counterfeit. That's a possibility too.

It's got those safety bumpers, or low kickback bumpers, or whatever they call it. The bumpers protrude way past the raker. Not sure if that's normal or not.

Any time you want something name brand and want to make sure it's name brand, Amazon is not the place to go to buy it. They even have Council Tool axe counterfeits on there.

I think it’s genuine stihl just a safety chain. Although it was sold as “RS” chain. Is there “green” RS chain?
