I'm gonna post this as a Review, even though I haven't moved a stick with it, I'm gonna give you my thoughts fairly and truthfully. 1st)- READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!  I am a fanatic about that because I watched a few people FVC___K up weed whackers, Chainsaws, mowers, truck engines and even a Caterpillar 3208 Diesel because they were "Experts" at engines and knew EVERYTHING! 2nd)- This machine (after I added the proper oil, came empty) Started on the 3rd pull. My opinion, pretty dam good! 3rd)- It is an easy machine to learn and drive. (I) found that 2nd gear speed is a perfect walking speed for me. I brought the engine down to idle, shifted gears then brought it back up to speed, Nothing fancy, it was fine and very smooth. Next, 4th)- it is built well and solid, but here comes My critique, As a welder and 45 years of doing it this machine is made in China!!! :hair: The machine is built in a mass production factory and it is obvious. My machine has (Fair :whistle:looking welds) on the tub and around the machine. Will they work, yes but I see that the tub may need some attention some day, and so be it. You're not going to get a machine like this (Built in America) :( for this price. I know many of you can weld and/or have a friend that can weld, there will be a time you will need it. The motor is a Briggs and Stratton, It started and ran very well. No complaint's on that area, I'm sure it will provide years of service. Again, I'm gonna put up the pictures here. For me, I believe this will be a huge asset to me/us. I think it will be a super tool. If your a Veteran and order it through Home Depot, you'll get 10% off. Not sure about our Canadian neighbors but they have the same machine (branded with a different label) as I put up the Video.
I put a standard 6.0 cuft wheel barrow next to it so you could get some size comparison.
To us older folks; o_O Yeah...:(:pain: I would give this a 8 out of 10 in the rating category only because I see some potential metal work/repairs that may be needed to be done down the road and I hate seeing crappy welds, no need for it. Pic's posted, you be the judge...

I'd be curious to see if that Canadian version has a belly pan under the axles. Guessing it might. If you're planning to use the Yardmax on snow, it'll do fine in the soft powder snow, as in the vid. But, drive the machine up on top of a deeper packed snow, and things can go south fast. The tracks push down until the axles make contact (at about 4") and drag it to a stop. Then, it's a real pita. It needs a skid plate under the axles, when on snow. I made one out of Delrin. Worked well.

That's awesome! Great thinking! I'll dig more into the Canadian version. We don't get anywhere near the snow you all get, but it'll be coming to NH in the future. I'm gonna look into it. I have a buddy who has some 1/16" sheets of Stainless steel, maybe a case of Beer :drunk: can coax him off a piece. ;)

  I guess that's one way of looking at it. Where we live goes from 20,000 in the winter to about 300,000 in summer, just in my neighborhood because it's a resort area and I'm 9 blocks from the beach/Delaware Bay. People are so FVC_N Ignorant, they walk their dogs and let them just S#IT anywhere they stop. There are (some) that will be nice and pick it up but most will not! The out of town people, mostly from the city are the ones who don't care sadly. I actually caught the same woman twice in a week letting her dog, S#!T in my yard, I ran outside after I had warned her once before and had the BALLS to say, "My dog didn't do that". I told her she would wear it the next time I see her dog do it. Haven't seen her since. Hence, why the sign is there and not just because of her.

I watched the Video again; At the 49 to 52 seconds into the video, it shows him coming at you and you can see though the frame of the machine to the snow. Doesn't look like it has one.

WW, I know you said you're looking for one for your Father, What little bit I've played around with this, this will be a life saver! As you can see in my pics, I have 3 wheel barrows in the yard, thats all we used, ever for transport! I would consider one of these seriously for us older folks, it will really be a back and body saver. If you can swing one of these, I would just do it. It took me all winter to put the $$$$ away to get one. You can also buy one on time/credit if you choose. I knew this day was coming for us...

That's great feedback, thanks! I saw one semi-local for $200 that needed some work. I may have to start a more in depth search. My parents wood is stacked in their lower yard, then brought up to the carport (which is 20 yards from their porch). One of these would be awesome for brining it up to the carport. He has a DR field/brush mower that has sat in his garage unused for probably 20 years. I could get it running and help him sell to maybe fund the cart.

And I hear you on the weld issues. My son is a welder and we all, mom included, inspect welds when we see them. :loco:  :picard:These are the last 2 pics he sent me.
