I was at my dealer a couple days ago as he's also a Fisher plow shop and I needed to get my gear pulled from my truck as it's being traded for a new one. As I waited I noticed a couple of MS400 saws on the shelf. The more I looked, the more I was surprised at his inventory. He carries all three of the big brands, Stihl/Husky/Echo and all the racks were stocked. One of his employees was an also checking in a big load of Husky stuff too while another was putting out a pile of line trimmers. I mentioned I was surprised to see so much in stock and he said it's pretty much back to normal. Husky and Echo are at 100% compared to before C19 and Stihl is just finally getting there too. He said that Stihl was doing better too but got fouled up with the Ukraine war as they had a lot of production there. The good news about that is they have bought a bunch of land in W. VA or somewhere like that and are building production facilities here state side. Anyways, just thought I would post about what I learned....
Depends what you are shopping for...some things are still a year or more lead time, stuff that was only 6-8 weeks in the past (if it wasn't in stock!)
Well, I didn't mean the economy in its entirety is fully stocked. I meant OPE. Saws, trimmers, blowers, etc. No problem getting pretty much whatever you want.
My new truck however was ordered 6 months ago and just landed though... Big difference from the 6 weeks it took to get the last one in 2017...
They never did get the truck they had on order at work...over a year and still no definitive arrival date, kept getting pushed back...they finally canceled the order and took another unit that was in stock.
A lot of folks are doing that Dave. Or switching to Ram. I was in no hurry so it worked out fine for me but the fleet guys are getting pretty frustrated…
Same, a used car dealer I pass every morning has a full row of shiny diesel trucks and the chebby dealer closest to my house has a full lot and markdown stickers on everything.
