    Back in 2013 our old Kubota B6100 4X4 had finally given up completely......(One night the tranny grenaded while grooming the arena)

    We needed a tractor .....I was getting fuel in town and just across the street is a Mahindra dealer.

    I decided to go over and check out the cute little Red Tractors.

    They had a 25 HP 4X4 with a spoon on the back (Back hoe) and the front bucket.....
    I crawled in the seat to check it out...(Made some tractor noises) :D
    I gal from the office came out and we talked.

    The "Out the door price" was a tad more than I wanted to spend.....She advised me that she had a 22 HP at their other lot.....same tractor.....just 3 hp less.....More of a sales gimmick me thinks.

    Hydrostatic drive, 4x4 ...front bucket.....We kept our mow deck and used it....
    The Skid steer in the piccy has been a Godsend......GREAT TOOL

    The MAX22 Tractor has been a great little rig....I would love to have had the 25 with the hoe....Just could not justify the extra $$$$$ at that time...

    The small size of Li'll Red is perfect.......Bigger would always be nice...Bigger is not so nice around the house and getting into tight places....The old Kubota was just too small

    "Tea cup tractor" for a small backyard garden......

    I have zero regrets with the Max 22

    That pretty much covers my dilemma. I started looking at the little green things(1025r and then the 1023e). Nearly fainted, Then on to the orange which were just as expensive. Also looked at the LS and Yanmar tractors a few towns over. Still a bit too pricey or lacked options I wanted. So I looked at the TYM dealer which is my closest dealer. Their prices were the best around, But the smaller sized tractors lacked the loader lift capacity and they had the highest finance rates.

    Was just about to give up on new and start looking used. And a local dealer(Goff's) sent sales fliers out. They carried MF and Mahindra tractors. Went and looked at their inventory and sat down to haggle pricing with their sales guy. The MF was about $1500 cheaper(with sales pricing) than the Mahindra. Plus the GC1725M had quit a bit more loader capacity and horsepower than the eMax 20S.

    I bugged the heck out of member smoke show bouncing things off of him. He likely hates me now! But I needed an impartial party to chat with, As most other tractor nuts I know were all steering me to the green thing which was over budget even with the spring price deals going on. I really didn't want to spend $20K on a tractor or have payments over $400 for 7 years. There were only a few tractors in this budget range(in may area) of $16K. And the MF gave me the best bang for the buck with included options and loader capacity.

    Straying cool here. Not enough to light up the pellet stove however. Besides, I've cleaned it and fogged the interior for next season.

    Pellet prices here are reflecting the inflationary aspects of the economy.

    It was a great lunch at York River Landing.

    I guess I can join the :BrianK: club when I say-"eating out is way overpriced now" but the food was good (strip steak that was :drool: ) and it was a good time. :yes:

    It has been really cool here this past week. That wind makes it more uncomfortable. I have some pansies set out. Also, need to cut back the hydrangeas. Hard to do when you can't walk but a few steps. Need to put the tick medication on the dog. I found a tick in my bed last night. Ticks seldom catch hold of my dog, but they do get a free ride into the house.

    I have'em elders someplace maybe England and a few from Canada, some Loyalist some Royalist. Some criminals some not. One never knows what might visit them from the past.

    I got mine used. Had no intentions, went to my dealer to pick up some parts for my old tractor. Every time I'm there I check out the used lot. I seen what I didn't need but had to have. 2 days later they delivered it.

    I had been previously looking for a good used tractor for years, even went to a few tractor auctions. My old one wasn't big enough for my acreage, also old and couldn't handle all the white stuff.

    Good shell run weather at last
    Put the outfit together yesterday morning and we got on the road by 8:30 am
    Back here by 10 am Time at the plant...less than 10 minutes......Unloading the can by 10:30

    Wonderful weather......
    Shells look great.....Coming right off the cracking plant (Nice and dry)

    10 barrels in the books

    We are heading back to the plant today and probably tomorrow too.....

    Goal is to get 30 barrels in the barn by weeks end.

    I will be feeling a lot more comfortable once the stock is back up.

    We will have one more run to make in the next couple of weeks to finish filling the stock...

    Feels good to be clearing out all the old stock and get things fresh and without any question as to what was in each barrel.....(Some of the old stock is still ?????...may be really old and need to be screened to be sure there are no sticks)

    A lot more fun in the warm weather rather than dodging rain/snow and cold wind.....
