Hello group I am wonder what you guys use to clean these boilers out when done for the season?
How much of the crud needs to come off?I ask as my unit has hard creosote build up on parts and other areas are just like black paint smooth.

The consensus seem to be clean out all of the ash, leave the paint like creosote, and remove all of the thick creosote that gathers in the corners etc. I also plan on cleaning the O2 sensor, fan area and fan, and bottom refractory.

Clean out ashes and call it good. Just need to get rid in anything that holds moisture.

[QUOTE Thanks I was told by the dealer to make sure I remove the panels on the side not sure why but guessing could be a moisture issue.
Thanks guy for your help and I look forward to my next heating season...
