4X4 and 4x6's

    I have some of these too. Almost all them are similar length and not been kiln dried, likely cut from trees that sat awhile too. I'm having a tough time finding reason to cut them too but I've also got many that are long. Like 6-8+ feet long and different species of wood. Most of the short ones like yours Marshel54 are oak, maple or possibly hickory(I'd be happy if I knew I had some of that but I've only been guessing as they were heavy but didn't have the rings like oak). Rest of the super long ones I have are Cottonwood, Maple, Oak. We made plenty of structural work on a chicken coop with them and if they get burned, wow do they burn hot!!!!
