Nothing like smell of White Oak

    Dropped this white oak last month and finally got a day and some weather to split and stack it. Added a few small splits of maple that was in the way and some beech that was taken out as collateral damage from a dead pine I had to drop.

    A whole cord fresh split and stacked sure does smell nice.
    Brewmasters aging bourbon and some chardonnay think so too.

    White oak sure does smell great to me. Son and I were sniffing fresh splits several times today while working up a bunch of chestnut oak. There were a few rounds of another oak in there that resembled black oak which smelled great too.

    One of my favorites. Anyone watching me split it would think im :loco: :crazy: when i keep sniffing it.

    Same here love the smell but I find it very slow to split :thumbs: because of all the stops to take a hit off a split.:smoke:

    I like EWP, the rare occasion im splitting it. Usually its a pine board that im turning into kindling.

    You guys should smell large amounts of fresh split apple wood. It's awesome.

    Yes, this is even better than the white oak. Honey locust is really nice as well.

    For great smelling firewood my favorite is Lodgepole Pine. Never get tired of it.
