Hated to see it go

    Heading down the Oregon coast there was a beautiful old Maple tree in a yard. It was huge and gnarly and always caught my attention on the way by.

    Yesterday on the way down I was saddened to see it in a heap, the victim of the recent wind storms.

    Just a rough guess but I told the wife there would be an easy 3 years of firewood in that tree, maybe more.

    Always sad to see an old growth tree succumb to the wind.
