    Dennis,
I have a really nice walnut case, made from real wood. Kinda cool... similar to this:

Mine has a rubber surround though to dampen the impact if dropped. Have to be honest though, I don't think they have em in elm.

I also use a layon charger and a corded one also. Advantage of a corded you can still use it while it is charging. The lay one charges faster.

An interesting side note is that the wireless charging was invented by a Michigan company known as Amyay where my wife worked for 43 years.
I can remember her telling me years ago that they were working on it.
They eventually sold the patent for it to a consortium made up of Texas Instruments and Hewlett Packard and I believe some other company's.
They had something like 200 patents.

No I seldom use the strap to clip, I have an XR which I think is about the same size as the 11 and it stays snug in the holster.
If anything mine likes to catch as I pull it out due to the rubbery grip of the otterbox.

    HVBW?

I wonder if Dennis is going to get a holster for the phone?

Maybe we should take bets as to whether it is a horizontal or vertical holder? :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Sorry Backwoods Savage ....but some things are just too easy and present themselves!

Dennis- coming from a certified non-techie, get some sort of case and some protection for the charging port. My phone rides in my pocket, and it collects lint, wood chips, etc. I finally got a plug for the port and one of those charging pads I put the phone on every night. A case better than the one I have may have the charging port sealed.

Well, then there's no expandable memory. It is what it is. I am not a fan of apple products. They work though. It's water-resistant at least. You do not need an OtterBox or other really expensive case, just for scratch and drop resistance. You'll drop it. The case will hopefully keep it green breaking.

It also has wireless charging, which is a great thing. My current phone ( pun intended) doesn't have wireless charging, but it has everything else, including a battery that will last 2 days, without putting it in battery saver mode.

Yep. Everything apples can do, androids can. However, there's a lot of stuff androids can do, that apples cannot.

I've read about and listened to folks opinions on phones and it is just about like comparing saws or cars or trucks. Some say one is best and others prefer the other.

The older I get, the simpler I want (at least in cell phones). Now I do own a SAT phone as well but I only use that on hunting trips because the air time is very expensive.

Like I said the Galaxy is going away to be replaced by a simple flip phone.

Sounds like my derringer. It's a lint and pocket trash collector as well.

Definitely true. 2 things most do agree on is a protective case and a screen protector.

Get yourself a car charger that goes in the "cigarette lighter". Helps if you have to charge it a bit and you're needing to be hands free but on the phone?

I'll vouch for the life proof but it's definitely not user error safe. The older versions used to have a plug for the earphone jack and if that isn't plugged in, you hope you're not near a puddle or the like. Now with phones today, everything is almost Bluetooth and wireless ear buds. Nice but I liked the wired buds for a reason. They sounded better.

This is why I just buy something cheap that gets the job done. It's offensive to me to think of paying more than a couple hundred dollars for a phone. What I have connects to internet, has a camera and will make calls and texts. That is all I require from one.
