The bigger carb made the saws run better for sure. I think condition is the ultimate factor in value. The prettier of the 2 in a 1984 that I paid $400 for, the other is a 1983 that I paid $150 for. There is an 86 XP on eBay for $600 that has been there for a minute, it isn’t as nice as either of these 2. I sold the 1983 for a good bit more than I paid for it.

Thanks for that little lesson. I didn’t figure there was any difference other than the decals. Figured it was just a marketing thing.
But pretty sure mine is marked se on the recoil and ID plate and xp on the top cover. Pretty sure the one at work is the same way.

I’m still thinking that you should have taken a couple days off and went on a road trip and picked it up for me

I own 2, the one that you got for me and another one that came from a member here that I’ve not used yet, I think it has an air leak, haven’t taken the time to sort it out yet. The 3rd one in the picture was my old boss’s, now belongs to the son or the company I guess. Been several years since that one has run.
But I’d sure be up for owning another, that last one you showed me looked really nice. Find me another like it and I’ll get it ported

    Why a second? Because spare.

I also asked him about that well used bar setting in front of the saw. Its a bar from another saw hes throwing in. The original is on the 241.

Another benefit of having two 241 saws is you not having any and I could rub it in lol. But there is a limit to how much I'll spend for that type of fun.

What size chain does a 241 take? IIRC its not .325 .063 like my 261.

Maybe a birthday gift for myself as its in three weeks. Hmmm, she asked how many now when i bought an 009L a few weeks back.
