Nice, that's a nice 55. What size bar are you gonna run on it? We have one with 20"bar, .325/.058 chain

Well, I tried an 18" on it but I don't like it that way.
I'll probably go with a 20" .325.... but I also have a couple 22" 3/8" so I might use one of those instead.

I prefer .325 on most of my 50cc saws.

How does your 55 do with the 20 inch bar?

It does fine limbing and in wood up to about 14-15". Full bar is kinda slow. Plenty of torque though.

I found a 20" .325 in the shed, so got to try it out last night....it seemed pretty good to me, the biggest piece I cut was about 14" but it sawed it right off.

Actually it's a pretty good saw for a "non-pro" model.

I think it must be a farm/ranch saw. Ours needs a little going over, has cranking issues sometimes

Yep, I've had some knotty hickory that needed a 461 or 362 splitter as well.

Not exactly a saw picture, but a saw chain post...
We have a couple square ground chains left. I've learned to a decent job filing them, I think.
It was time to clean out the gullets 0312230808.jpg
So figured out the angles and stops, used the small radius wheel 0312230810a.jpg
I think it did a good job on the gullets. 0312230810.jpg
Got it back on the saw without too much damage to myself... 0312230826.jpg
It's sharp, bumped a tooth on the end of the bar with my finger...

My suspicion on the bar holes was confirmed. Oil was puking out on the bar near the mount instead of all going into the rail. So I broke out the JB.

    That should do the trick.
