Started a fire last night about 9:30 w/ some small mulberry limb wood, then a full load of chestnut oak. Put one piece on this morning and will let it go out. Full blown shoulder season still.

The nice upper 40s earlier has since dropped to 44 and continues to fall towards the high 20s, or so they predict. Yellow birch, apple and sugar maple in the stove tonight.

Yesterday we had flocks of swans heading north. Then I had to go to St Charles later and drove near the big refuge and saw thousands of geese and swans. I expect to see sandhill cranes within a week.

Last weekend when I was cutting some wood with my dad, we noticed a large flock of geese flying due north. They were higher than I've ever seen geese in my life.

The frost on neighbors tree was breathtaking when the sun finally came out.

Except, I don't think the trampoline is going to make it through this winter. Last winter warped the frame but we'll have to see on both the frame and tarp in a month or two yooperdave .

Glad I snapped these yesterday, drifts are brown again this morning. PS, the green tire planter is 2 stacked on eachother, the tramp frame is 4'.

34F here with with a very stiff NE wind. The big 12" snowstorm has now been downgraded to 2-4" for my area. Burning Oak and Cherry and hoping stuff dries up a lot so I can get at least some wood put up before bugs and humidity set in.
