    Love sassafras!! We have plenty but not many over 10-12”. Cut a bunch 12 years ago for posts to make our chicken pen. Still solid as the day we made it. Makes great kindling for fire starters ,seasons in a few months. And the smell :thumbs:

    Another new tree to me, thanks for sharing! Good job falling, that did look tricky but you put it right where you wanted it. That's always a rush.

    There are 2 more about the same size and 1 a little bigger that I have seen in the woods.

    You're so right! Woodpeckers were on that tree quite frequently. I kind of feel bad taking it from them.

    Day off. Split and stacked most of it.
    Some small limb wood left and a few splits where I'm waiting for the ants to heed their eviction notice.

    2/3 black cherry, rest sass. Best smelling stack in the yard!

    I drink sassafras tea.It taste like root beer and is a natural blood thinner.Just don't drink too much of it.
