My "Pro & Cons" score yielded some wood that was determined to be Chinese chestnut. I split all the rounds today and it is rather heavy and dense. Reminds me of oak. Gonna put it with my oak stack and dry it as such.

Anyone have experience drying and burning it? Take multiple years to dry? IMG_2743.JPG IMG_2744.JPG Made some nice splits. Far left of the pile. IMG_2747.JPG

Hmm...pretty sure I've edited title before, could be wrong I guess.
Not really...don't know that I've had much, if I did it just went in the stacks with everything else...

In my experiences CC dries relatively fast (year or so), burns decent and has a nice scent.

Good shoulder season or mix wood.

Never even heard of Chinese Chestnut. But I’ll burn it, if ya want to drop it off on my property!

I have burned some and have about 1/2 cord left. Also the remainder of the dead tree to fell.
It burns ok. I mix it in with other wood. Not sure on drying time, stuff Im burning has been sitting for over 2.5 years.
