Discolored heart wood is indicative of red (soft) maple.

Red maple gets my vote. I've been working with some recently. The dark wood pattern is a giveaway.

Classic ambrosia says red maple. Most common tree in the state. Dries in less than a year.

It's soft maple, more than likely red.

So if red maple is soft wood, what is hard maple? I got some (what I was told was hard maple) from my tree climber buddy and it was pretty tough and also heavy! I'm not good with IDs, it looks similar to what I got a few years ago

Hard maple/rock maple is another name for sugar maple (Acer Saccharum)

1st pic is American beech and a single red maple log. 2nd and 3rd pic are red maple.

Sugar maple will have a yellowish pink hue to the wood (vs white on red maple) and the heart is small or nonexistent and rarely creeps out into the meat of the log

Yes all but the Bottom log is American beech in that first picture. I looked past the first picture figuring that were all the same type, but they are not.

Sugar maple aka rock maple. Not sure if there are any other that are classified as such. I know Norway is better then red but not as hard as sugar. I compare it to ash in all aspects.

Those smooth logs look like young soft maple to me.
