If I had to guess, we've had 20-30 days below freezing already. 2 days in the negatives at night.

If others didn't know, through Wunderground, you can look at temperatures for your city. Average temp in Wyoming was 46 degrees in October and 27 in November. Average in November last year was 41. Explains more wood usage.

I seem to be burning more this year than last year. Seems colder to me. I am at approximately 2 cord so far. Working remotely and having the ability to feed the stove continuously makes a difference too. I have a 2700 sq. foot house with the stove in the basement. Although the furnace has turned on a few times during really cold nights, I have pretty much relied on heat from the stove. I am burning mostly ash. Have a stockpile of oak and hickory that I will use when it gets cold for an extended period.

I used to use them to get the daily high/low at the airport near us. They stopped doing that so now I use this site.

Calling for lows of -26 and -16 next week. I've been burning Ash and went through 1/4 cord of it last week alone.

    2022 into 2023.

I normally burn ~3.5 cords of firewood, per heating season.

So far, I've burned 1.3 cords, plus an amount of chunks back I n October. Thank you warm winter. Temps continue to be forecasted to be above average.

    More burning of shoulder wood.

January was in the top ten warmest January’s on record in Kentucky, december was mild too!! However, I have burned as much or more wood as a normal winter!! I hate restarting fires so I shut the fan off, open doors more and sweat it out I guess, it’s all good✌️

Poor Rope needs to weigh in on this. Problem is he’s probably so busy filling the stove & finding wood he doesn’t have any time left to post!!!!:hair::picard:

I've got to be up around 1.75 cords so far. It's hard to tell for sure since I wasn't getting all the firewood from my neat, organized, and easy to measure piles. I was taking a little here, a little there, from random spots where I had small amounts of whatever squirreled away.

I'm thinking about a cord so far, but like Eric, its hard to tell. I've burned and am still burning shorts and uglies. Also some of the dead barkless elm I've been cutting has gone on the porch rack.

If the trend continues, I'll be about 3 cords usage this season. That wood be an all time low.

More this year for me , I have been focused more this year than others trying to keep it going longer and anytime I am home.
Not sure how much more I have burned but without a doubt it is more.

I need to step up my game and get ready for next year.

    Yes to this.
Probably better set for two years and three years out but might have to fill in some voids for next year.
I have a good amount of oak for the 2 and 3 year plan but have cut into next years racks this season.

I have a couple loads of dead standing ash to get over the next few weeks with the hope it will be good later next season.

Mild winter and wife is not home as much burning wood like a borrowed mule made it. If I had to guess it’s been at least 2 cords less.
Definitely less mid week restocking of the basement.

Just 2 cords here so far. A little bit less than normal and I do not think we will get to our normal average of 3.

It has definitely been warmer than average. Not that I mind but it makes it a bit more challenging to run the furnace.

Between 1 and 1-1/4 cord and 75 gallons of oil.

I’m right about 5 face cord in the furnace and 1-2 face cord in the stove early season. Gonna need another dump truck load brought up to the garage. We’ll see how far that takes me. Definitely leas wood burnt this year than years past. Like Chud , some of that is because I’m missing some of the mid day reloading on days nobody is home or my wife forgets to.
