Many will remember the problem I had with the epson printer. For those who don't know, my printer stopped printing color. Still under warranty by about a month. They kept jacking me around until the warranty period was done then told me where I could get it fixed on my dollar.

    Warranty was up 1/11/2023.

Yesterday I received a telephone call from them. Surprise! I'm getting a new printer after all along with an apology. It seems their attitude changed drastically when they received notice from the MI Attorney General's office. Good.

    Haha that's awesome!
Not sure why you had to go that route though it broke under warranty? No matter happy printing!

Because they just kept dragging it out through email without doing anything. Then when end of warranty came up, it was, "Sorry. Warranty expired. Can no longer fix under warranty." What a bunch of dingalings.:headbang::headbang::headbang:

I know what you were saying, didn't mean to have you explain again, seems like since it broke under warranty it should be covered no matter the AG's involvement, maybe that's my logic talking

Way to stand up to the corporate greed and mismanagement! Printers are one of the necessary evils of modern life, but I always have a mild sense of dread when printing something important, because you can never be sure the thing is going to work!

My partner used to work for a nonprofit health insurance company as the designated problem solver when customers couldn't get the insurance to pay claims, and the customer elevated to management. When she decided that the customer should be covered based on the facts, and couldn't get results within the company, she provided them with a form letter to complete, sign and send to the state AG office. Worked every time. I share this story because it is an example of how incredibly dysfunctional corporate gatekeeping systems can be. And if you think the printer folks jerking you around is bad, imagine if you had a big medical bill that the insurance wouldn't cover.

And one last thing, contrary to expectations, rather than being shunned by the company for telling customers to rat out the company for bad behavior, she was loved by upper management and was even given the outstanding top employee award one year.

About a year later, she was caught up in a reorg, and laid off, unless she could find another job internally, within 6 months. She landed another job there, because of her reputation, rating, etc., but the mistreatment soured her on the company, and she left for a much better job at a much better company. I'm not sure there's a better printer company out there, HP printers totally suck as well.
