Yes, I am paranoid about nails/screws/staples and will now haul anything with those “tire finders” to the dump!
Ours through the weekend… seems like I’ll have a couple really nice days for cutting wood this weekend.
Thinking of firing up the stove. Haven't had it going this winter due to ill health. Sons says he'll load it up for me. Should help a lot.
Clear pretty much outside again but that means cold temps also. Went out to look for that comet once again a few minutes ago. Thought better of it and went back inside is less than a minute! I sure have been getting cold easier now-a-days.
Just signed and sent in a contract for a new combi boiler that should be installed tomorrow. HWH is 14 years old when it died, and wasn't going to throw more money at it. Boiler is 30 YO and I was thinking of replacing it this summer anyway, so decided to bite the bullet. The combi unit will be mounted on an exterior wass and should free up a bunch of floor space as well as take care of a mess of pipes.
Me too. I did run the magnet over them and then dumped em in the trash to go to the dump. I drop a screw or nail from a ladder, I’ll climb down & pick it up right then because of worrying about forgetting it and the rubber “nail detectors” on the mowers and tractors find them. I put used screws and nails in an empty water bottle with lid before putting them in the garbage bag. I have found screws and nails beside and under bags when I was loading in my truck. I guess I got over zealous packing bags but this eliminates the problem.
I've read about that in the history books you old guys wrote! -17 out there now. Glad I'm not out west like wildwest .... she gets no mercy once that wind begins blowing!
That’s funny, I do exactly the same thing . Will not move on until I find the durned nail, screw, nut, bolt..whatever it is. If not found promptly I go for my roofing nail magnet and locate the item…..only then will I proceed on the project.
My husband is often on construction sites, I can't imagine the bill for all the tires he's had to get repaired/replaced. 1/2 the time there's a tow truck too.
The garage this truck belongs to is walking distance from my house and I'm acquainted with the owner. I'm glad he's OK.
It must be cold as they are postponing the penguin plunge as wind chills are predicted to be -50 below
