The snowbanks on the driveway are closing in....it's getting narrower and narrower each time I plow! 1/2 ton truck snowplow just can't move the snow over the height of the snowbank any longer! You can start by taking the snowbank snow!!!
I hear you! We had a bobcat in at the end of December to push ours between the trees. I used to plow with a K-5 Blazer and straight Myres plow, and some years I often had the snow falling down from the banks stop my truck, so I would get out and shovel. I was young then, but wouldn’t do that nowadays1
I have like one, maybe two snows before I have to bring another machine in to push back what the atv has been doing. luckily I now own said such machine.
Trouble at the old snow stacks…seems the recent melting caused the snow to list to the east enough to fall over.
Mike I remember you coined a term for this phenomenon: “layerification.” We have a target over us for 20”-30” for new snow Wednesday through Thursday this week!
We don't have the usual amount of snow for this time of year. Good for me. Not good for the ice fishing, sledding etc. The snow in the Mtns. is good. (they can have it). Should be easier on those with sugar shacks. On the other side, it is still very much winter. Big storm predicted later this week with plowable snow accumulation. Thing is, with the warmer temps that keep coming around, it most likely will not last. Can see several bear ground areas in the woods and fields.
We're possibly getting 24" later this week according to a national weather service map. That's somewhere near what we've got all winter here. Sugar, my buddy already has 60 gallons of finished syrup.
What are those cover strips you're using?My son bought used billboard vinyl that comes huge (as you can guess) or in smaller quantities as well. Thicker...beats tarps.,.there's a website....Google it....
The rubber closest to the shed is a gravel pit conveyor belt. Given to me by the pit operator near our home. The outer rubber is a more conventional rubber conveyor belt my Amish neighbor traded me. They work great but the thinner rubber has uglys on top of it to keep it down. The gravel pit one no extra weight needed that sucker ain’t going anywhere!
